DEFINITION

Classification: 427/562

Electric discharge (e.g., corona, glow discharge, etc.):

(under subclass 561) Processes wherein an electric discharge is used to treat the coating material before it is applied.

(1) Note. The arc discharge is a type of electrical conduction in gases characterized by high current density and low potential drop. It is closely related to the glow

discharge, but has a much lower potential drop in the cathode region, as well as a greater current density.
