DEFINITION

Classification: 327/483

Darlington connection:

(under subclass 482) Subject matter which includes a circuit of two similar transistors where their collectors are tied together and the emitter of the first transistor is directly coupled to the base of the second transistor such that the emitter current of the first transistor equals the base current of the second transistor.

(1) Note. A Darlington connection is also called a Darlington pair, double emitter follower, or beta-multiplier.
