DEFINITION

Classification: 426/398

(under subclass 397) Processes involving a rigid liquid impermeable container wall, which is (1) either lined or coated with a nonedible either partially or completely; or (2) contains a nonedible in its interior which is other than a part of the container wall.

(1) Note. The additional layer must be different in chemical structure than the container wall and it can be added after the food is enclosed in the container, e.g., sealing by coating of an irregularity in the container wall, etc..
