DEFINITION

Classification: 359/186

Pulse time:

(under subclass 184) Subject matter wherein the values of instantaneous samples of the information signal (i.e., modulating signal) are made to modulate the occurrence time of some characteristic of a pulse carrier.

(1) Note. This subclass includes pulse position and pulse width modulation.

(2) Note. Pulse position modulation modulates the position in time of a transmitted pulse with respect to each sampled instantaneous value of the information signal (i.e., modulating signal).

(3) Note. Pulse width, also identified as pulse duration,

modulation controls the width of the transmitted pulse relative to each sampled instantaneous value of the information signal (i.e., modulating signal).
