(under subclass 186) System wherein the direction of the aircraft during landing is changed from a first path to a second path, the first path being inclined to the ground and the second path being parallel to and close to the ground, the change being responsive to a sensing of the altitude of the aircraft to cause a change of inclination of the aircraft.
