DEFINITION

Classification: 209/208

(under subclass 155) Means and methods for assorting or grading material by deposition from a body of liquid, generally water, which are not dependent upon the effect of an impingement of a current flow of liquid upon the material.

(1) Note. The body of liquid may be static or may be in motion, and in the latter case the material is either initially in suspension in the liquid or is delivered to a body of liquid moving in other than the form of a current.

(2) Note. The distinction between this subclass and those indented thereunder and subclasses 155-161 lies in the dependance of the latter upon the effect of a current of liquid upon the material, while the former group is substantially independent thereof.
