Using a monostable multivibrator:

(under subclass 609) Subject matter in which the means to adjust or control the dwell time includes an oscillator circuit having one stable state, i.e., the circuit remains in a condition having a given output level (e.g., logical zero) until receiving a trigger signal, at which time the circuit will switch to its other output level (logical 1) and after a predeterminable time returns to its original level (logical zero).
