DEFINITION

Classification: 123/54.1

Cylinders radiating:

(under subclass 52.1) Multiple cylinder engine including a rotary output shaft that turns about an axis intersected by and extending generally perpendicular to the axes of the first and second cylinders, the pistons of which are drivingly connected to the output shaft, wherein the cylinder axes are not parallel to each other.

(1) Note. The axes of the first and second cylinders may intersect the rotational axis of the crankshaft at the same or at different points along the axis of the crankshaft.

(2) Note. When viewed as a cross-section normal to the crankshaft axis, the first and second cylinder axes intersect at the point defining the crankshaft axis.
