DEFINITION

Classification: 123/41.24

(under subclass 41.21) Cooling systems in which vapor and/or water flows from the top of the block or cylinder jacket to the bottom of the radiator.

(1) Note. This usually results in the water returning to the block or cylinder without circulating through the heat exchanger, which is an upflow condenser.
