(under subclass 862.391) Subject matter wherein the sensing

means detects either (a) the deflection of the element produced by a predetermined deflecting force, or (b) a deflecting force required to produce a predetermined deflection.

(1) Note. For the purposes of this subclass, pulleys, rollers, and the like means for guiding a traveling flexible element comprise deflecting means that produce a predetermined deflection.
