DEFINITION

Classification: 530/342

Mixed anhydride synthesis:

(under subclass 338) Processes in which the synthesis includes (1) forming a mixed anhydride by reacting an alpha-acylamino acid or an alpha-acylamino peptide with a lower alkyl chloroformate in the presence of a tertiary amino base, and then (2) reacting the resulting free amino group or a peptide derivative having a free amino group, to form a peptide.
