DEFINITION

Classification: 508/474

With non-acrylate organic chalcogen compound:

(under subclass 469) Compositions which contain, in addition to the polymer of the alpha, beta-olefinically unsaturated carboxylate monomer, an organic chalcogen (i.e., oxygen, sulfur, selenium, or tellurium) compound that is not an acrylate.

(1) Note. An organic chalcogen compound is one wherein chalcogen is attached directly or indirectly by nonionic bonding to carbon of an organic compound.

(2) Note. See Notes to the Class Definition for the definition of an organic compound.

(3) Note. An acrylate has the basic structure H2C=CH-C(=O)O-, wherein substitution may be made for hydrogen only.
