(under subclass 572) Subject matter wherein the solid fuel to be consolidated is coal and, prior to consolidation with paraffin, liquid hydrocarbon, or wax hydrocarbon, the coal is

subjected to a purification process.

(1) Note. Most often, the preliminary purification process concludes with a water washing, after which the coal is subject to, e.g., agglomeration with oil.
