DEFINITION

Classification: 435/466

The polynucleotide is a shuttle vector or a trasiently replicating hybrid vector:

(under subclass 455) Processes wherein the nucleic acid contains at least two different origins of replication with said different origins being functional in cells from different organisms and at least one of said origins being of animal origin and functional in the transfected cell.

(1) Note. For the purposes of this subclass, transient replication is defined as replication of the vector only for a limited duration, such that said vector does not persist in the host cell or cell line, e.g., SV40, polyoma virus, etc.
