DEFINITION

Classification: 428/524

(under subclass 411.1) Product in which at least one layer comprises a resin resulting from the reaction of an aldehyde or a ketone and a polyfunctional active hydrogen containing compound, which, with the elimination of water, produces a chain of alkylidene units alternating with the residue of the hydrogen supplying compound.

(1) Note. Phenol formaldehyde, urea formaldehyde, polyamino (e.g., melamine) formaldehyde, and furfural are exemplary of compounds within the scope of the term, "Aldehyde or ketone condensation product*.
