(1) Note. The residue from distillation of mineral oil and/or coal and from the destructive distillation of wood is considered to be a pitch; and a patent claiming a laminate including a layer of such material will be placed in this subclass.
(2) Note. The mere identification in the disclosure, of a material in a layer as an asphalt, tar, pitch or bitumen will be sufficient for placement of a patent in this subclass.
