DEFINITION

Classification: 427/517

Coating includes specified rate affecting material:

(under subclass 508) Processes wherein the applied coating composition includes a stipulated material which affects the rate of the polymerization.

(1) Note. A rate-affecting material is a material which either affects the rate of reaction, permits reduced amounts of wave energy, increases or decreases the degree of polymerization, cure, cross-linking, grafting, or inhibits reaction. Included are photo initiators, photosensitizers, activators, accelerators, inhibitors, initiators, retarders, sensitizing auxiliaries, generators, or curing catalysts.

(2) Note. The mere mention or recitation of use of an accelerator or rate -affecting material with no specific type designated is not proper for this and indented subclasses.

(3) Note. Search subclass 514 for subject matter containing colorant or pigment.
