DEFINITION

Classification: 426/279

(under the class definition) Processes in which a plastic or fluent food is placed within a mold and while being held in the mold a cavity is formed by displacement of the food material, said cavity then being filled to a desired extent with a diverse food.

(1) Note. "Displacement" requires a shifting of the food material from one volume of space to a volume of space outside the original volume occupied by the material. It must be more than a mere compression wherein the material occupies a smaller volume.
