DEFINITION

Locking ring coaxially related to an elongated, externally threaded nut:

(under subclass 103) Device wherein the member is a circular band or loop and has, as its axis, the longitudinal axis of a nut, and wherein the nut has a significant longitudinal dimension and is provided with an outer surface which is threaded for engaging the sidewall of the hole or pocket, the circular band or loop supplementing the sidewall engagement in joining the nut to the substructure.

(1) Note. The band or loop may encompass the nut or it may be outwardly of an end thereof.

(2) Note. The sidewall of the hole or pocket may be plain or threaded.
