Using gear shaper-cutter:

(under subclass 33) Apparatus or method including structure to support a workpiece and structure to support a cutting tool with provision to cause the cutting tool to be reciprocated to pass to-and-fro relative to the workpiece to effect the cutting operation, which cutting tool support structure also includes provision to cause the cutting tool to be turned about an axis generally parallel to the direction of reciprocation between passes, for generating an intermeshable element in a series of passes.
