(under subclass 1) Apparatus or method including formation of an intermeshable element by a cutting tool making several cutting passes through a workpiece with relative repositioning of the workpiece and the cutting tool between cutting passes so that a first portion of the final configuration of the intermeshable element is formed by a first cutting pass and a second portion is formed by a subsequent pass.
