(under subclass 16) Subject matter wherein the optical switch operates to selectively couple light between a plurality of input waveguides and any one of their respective plurality of output waveguides.

(1) Note. Switching of all input waveguides takes place simultaneously.

(2) Note. The number of output waveguides associated with each input waveguide is the same.
