DEFINITION

Classification: 374/174

By conductive fluid or work function within sensor (e.g., ionization):

(under subclass 163) Subject matter wherein the thermal sensor includes an envelope having a fluid or a vacuum therein, and electrodes to provide an electric current or space discharge therein, the temperature being determined by its effect on the discharge.

(1) Note. The temperature effect may be produced by variation in work function, ionization, or thermoelectric potential.
