128  DF  REFRACTION TESTING (E.G., REFRACTOMETERS) {5}
133.~ Refractive rod engages specimen

DEFINITION

Classification: 356/133

(under subclass 128) Subject matter which includes a solid light transmissive member whose periphery touches a fluid under test, which transmits light to the detecting and indicating means, the refractive index of the fluid being directly related to the amount of light received by the detecting and the indicating device.

(1) Note. The type or refraction test classified herein can be found in Class 73, Measuring and Testing, in subclasses 73 and 705. The difference is that in Class 73 the quantitive meter will register the result of the test in moisture units or pressure units, while in this Class 356 the registration is in index of refraction measurements.
