Direct viewed light valve:

(under subclass 739) Subject matter wherein a light modulator is interposed between a light source and a viewer, whereby the viewer of the display observes the images directly from the modulator.

(1) Note. Examples of direct viewed light valves are surface acoustic wave display and magnetic bubble display wherein light is modulated acoustically or magnetically.
