DEFINITION

Classification: 337/53

(under subclass 52) Subject matter comprising means whereby a movable contact or contacts, may be operated from a first position to a second position quickly, as by a snap action, the contacts motion being independent of the rate of movement of the operator. This is usually accomplished by a spring connection between the operator and the contact carrier so arranged that the initial movement of the operator places the spring under tension whereby upon release of a holding means the contact is snapped from one position to another by action of the spring.
