DEFINITION

(under subclass 81) Subject matter wherein the means controlling the beam of particles comprises a buncher resonator effectively placed in the path of the beam and interacting therewith to cause the particles to be velocity modulated or bunched, a repeller electrode is provided in the path of the bunched particles and is so biased as to reflect the bunched particles and cause them to return to the buncher resonator in proper phase to interact therewith to give additional energy to the resonator and produce sustained oscillations.
