Reversal of power to primary winding:

(under subclass 757) Subject matter wherein the means for applying a torque or force to the motor includes circuitry to change the direction of current or the phase through the primary winding of the motor to create an electromagnetic force in the secondary winding of the motor in a direction

opposite to the direction of rotation of the motor to slow down or stop the motor.

(1) Note. The method of reversing the motor connections to apply braking action is known as "plugging".
