(under subclass 485.9) Subject matter in which a portion of the force applied to the take-up by the driven surface is generated by other than the weight associated with the driven surface or take-up or a static spring or weight acting on the driven surface or take-up.
(1) Note. A control that varies the pressure of the driven roll on the take-up is placed in this subclass since, by definition, it cannot involve only the use of a static spring or weight.
