(under subclass 422) Apparatus including impermeable movable receptacles, chutes, or tables not of endless-belt or drum form associated with means for treating material thereon with gaseous currents, so that the heaviest constituents may settle as a stratum, while the lighter constituents either form relatively displaced strata or are carried away by the gaseous currents, there being no substantial movement of the heaviest constituents along the support, or both the heaviest and the lighter constituents moving in the same direction toward discharge.
