(under subclass 456) Apparatus wherein at least two successions of articles move along a corresponding number of substantially parallel paths in a particular direction of movement, and wherein the articles of at least one of said successions are successively shunted in a direction transverse to said particular direction, whereby the distance between the successions of articles after the shunting is different from the distance between the successions before the shunting.
