(under subclass 1) Processes in which logs or billets of fibrous material are subjected to chemical treatment which does not destroy its log or billet form, which are then subjected to a mechanical grinding or attrition to convert the logs or billets into a defibered form.
(1) Note. Processes in which the chemical digestion or treatment results in a destruction of the log or billet form followed by attrition are classified in the appropriate subclass below on other bases.
