(under subclass 434) Subject matter wherein the means for forming the mixture of fuel and oxidant (1) senses the relative proportion of oxidant and fuel in the mixture at a first location in an intake manifold prior to combustion and (2) uses such information to modify the relative proportion of oxidant and fuel at a second downstream location supplied to the engine.
