INTAKE MANIFOLD:

(under the class definition) Internal-combustion engine component including at least one passage in fluid communication with an inlet port of the engine through which working fluid (i.e., air, air and fuel mixture, etc.) is distributed to the engine.

(1) Note. A manifold that conveys intake gases to an engine and also conveys exhaust gases away from an engine is included herein. Preheating of intake gases may be done by the exhaust gases in such a manifold.
