Gerberas are characterized as having hairy, basal rosette, entire to dentate or pinnately lobed petiolate leaves ascending to spreading to form mounded specimens; capitulums are radiate, solitary on long peduncles, densely, doubly ray flowered, blending to disc florets of same to contrasting coloration.
