DEFINITION

Classification: 83/879

SEE OR SEARCH CLASS

30, Cutlery,

164.9+, for a hand tool or a work supported tool for scoring (or marking) material.

33, Geometrical Instruments,

18.1+, for mechanically guided relatively travelling means to mark work in a predetermined pattern, including scratching or scoring, said subclasses have not been screened for patents fitting the definition of this subclass.

125, Stone Working, appropriate subclass for a scoring device disclosed as being adapted to mark natural material in or removed from the ground.

225, Severing by Tearing or Breaking,

96+, for an implement or machine for preliminarily weakening (as by scoring) and subsequently breaking a workpiece.

451, Abrading, for a scoring device wherein marking is done by the abrasive action of a natural cutting media (e.g., by the action of a nonartificially formed diamond tipped tool).

493, Manufacturing Container or Tube From Paper; or Other Manufacturing From a Sheet or Web,

396+, for "scoring" of a sheet or web by deforming rather than by cutting.
