DEFINITION

(under subclass 438) Device which is arranged to exert a guiding function upon one or more faces or edges of a structure which is disclosed as being temporarily attached to and supported by the work.
(1) Note. This subclass does not include a guided work carrier or other work-holder, for which see subclasses 401+. Here, the work holds the template or straightedge. That is to say, the template is not a work holder or support; but is merely attached to the work to provide one or more edges for cooperation with guide means.
