DEFINITION

Classification: 83/428

(under subclass 426) Device in which the cutter movement is in a direction which is simultaneously transverse to the path of the work, and substantially perpendicular to the cutting plane of said cutter, (i.e., parallel to a surface of the work), and occurs while the work is moving through the cutting zone.

(1) Note. Patents placed herein produce an undulant or zigzag line of separation of cutting. For other patents producing a zigzag line, but without lateral movement of the tool, see subclass 333.
