83 /   HD   CUTTING

200.1BY INCREASED TENSIONING OF WORK-ENCLOSING WIRE

DEFINITION

Classification: 83/200.1

(under the class definition) Device wherein the cutting member is substantially one-dimensional; i.e., the dimensions of its cross-section are negligible relative to its length, and which member surrounds a portion of the work surface prior to cutting, thus defining a plane; and which device includes means to apply or increase stress in the cutting member so that the cutting member moves into the work in the plane initially defined.

(1) Note. The cutting member may or may not completely encircle the work. In the latter case, reaction to the cutting force will be provided by a work-stop abutment.
