(under subclass 178) Apparatus, wherein means, responsive to an operative's volition, are provided to move the work relative to a tool and preparatory to initiation of the tool stroke*, or to cooperate with a significant feature of the work structure to restrain the moving piece from further movement.
(1) Note. This subclass includes patents for cutting machines with means to accomplish the necessary locating of work within a cutting zone, in order that the work may be in proper alignment with the cutter operating thereon, as distinguished from means to feed the work to such zone.
