DEFINITION

Classification: 8/189

(under subclass 181) Processes wherein the nitrogen-containing organic compound is heterocyclic, i.e., said compound consists of one or more carbon atoms covalently bonded in a closed ring with at least one atom of nitrogen.

(1) Note. The heterocyclic ring may include oxygen, sulfur, selenium or tellurium as other hetero atoms.

(2) Note. Nonnitrogenous heterocyclic compounds are not included herein but are classified elsewhere according to the organic nitrogen-containing moiety.
