With attenuation, thickening elongating shortening of work material:

(under subclass 362) Process including a step which causes a plastic flow of work material which in turn results in a reduction or an enlargement of any dimension of the work material not compensated for by a parallel and opposite flow.

(1) Note. The subject matter of this subclass relates to

substantially all metal-deforming operations except "bending".
