(under the class definition) Subject matter comprising the step of, or means for, utilizing the production, transmission, reflection, or refraction of visible light rays in combination with a step of, or means for, deforming metal.
(1) Note. A mere opening or recess in a machine housing to permit visual inspection of work or tool condition is not deemed "optical means" within the scope of the subclass definition; a transparent window material, or a lamp, mirror, lens, etc., is regarded as "optical means" for the purposes
of this subclass.
