DEFINITION

Classification: 69/29

Apparatus for the treatment of hides, skins and leather with a fluid not more specifically provided for elsewhere.

(1) Note. Many of the patents in this subclass and indented subclasses, are directed to apparatus for tanning hides or skins.

(2) Note. This subclass includes the fluid treatment, of hides, skins or leather even though the hair remains thereon, unless there is also some treatment of the hair; for the latter, see this class, subclass 23, or indented subclasses, especially subclass 28.

(3) Note. This and the indented subclasses take patents defining more than mere vat or tank structure. Such structures, per se, are in the appropriate structure class, particularly Class 52, Static Structures (e.g., Buildings), Class 217, Wooden Receptacles, and Class 220, Receptacles, noted below.
