(under subclass 8) Apparatus and method wherein the machine operates to produce a configuration of yarn in at least one course and wale that provides an ornamental or other visual effect in the knitted fabric.
(1) Note. Tuck, welt, plate, or other exotic knitting is generally found in this subclass.
(2) Note. This subclass also includes stitch length variation for other than strictly fashioning.
