DEFINITION

Classification: 606/69

Cortical plate:

(under subclass 60) Subject matter wherein the internal fixation means is an elongated element which is applied to a fractured bone on its exterior surface and fastened thereto so as to hold the disassociated portions in alignment during healing.

(1) Note. The plate may be implanted on a permanent bases or removed upon healing of the break in the bone.
