(under subclass 224) Subject matter wherein the suture is adfixed to the needle by the application of force or pressure to the end of the needle into which the suture is inserted such that the end becomes altered in shape so as to hold the suture tightly within the altered shape of the needle end.
(1) Note. Patents in this subclass disclose form plastic deformation by swaging or by the application of force to that portion of the needle which holds the end of the suture.
