(under subclass 86) Subject matter comprising deflection or plastic deformation means particularly adapted for changing the configuration of a nail or plate to a prescribed configuration or to a configuration which substantially conforms to some particular bone structure.
(1) Note. The benders in this subclass are used to alter the shape of bone plates, intramedullary nails, screws, or cortical plates to adapt a device of generally correct shape to fit a specific application site.
