(under subclass 5) Subject matter comprising means which provides either: (a) a means for circulating a fluid of a desired temperature between the body portion and a splint, or (b) a means to alter the temperature of the splint which in turn provides a treatment or feeling of hot or cold to the body portion.
(1) Note. The splints in this subclass provide comfort means for the wearer in the form of circulated conditioned air or they provide a means to apply a thermal treatment to the encased body portion while also maintaining the relative position of the portion.
