DEFINITION

Classification: 544/37

(under subclass 35) Compounds which include nitrogen bonded directly to the phenothiazine ring system.

(1) Note. This subclass provides largely for phenothiazine dyes which have one or more substituted amino groups on the benzo moiety, such as leuco methylene blue, [figure]

(2) Note. This subclass also provides for any nitrogen containing substituent wherein the nitrogen atom is bonded directly to the benzo rings; e.g., the structure below. [figure]
